Undergraduate Programs

Students can transfer from one program to another within the University of Limassol (UoL) or from programs of other universities to the UoL subject to the following rules for transfer of credits.

An undergraduate student may transfer up to a maximum of 120 credits (out of the 240 required to graduate) from another program of the UoL or from an accredited program of another University. The candidate must apply to the relevant Department/Program in the UoL for recognition of credits, submitting the detailed program of study, curriculum with course descriptors and official transcripts (in certified – apostille – into English if they are in any other language).

The transfer can be done from the first, second or third year of study. Based on the student’s transcripts, the relevant UoL Department/Program in consultation with the Admissions Committee will determine the number of credits that will be registered and the number of years that he/she will need to complete his/her studies in Cyprus. The student must study in Cyprus for at least 2 years (50% of UoL program’s credits).

The student must have an English language certification. A “Very Good Knowledge” of English is required at level B2-C1 of the Council of Europe’s Common European Framework of Reference, such as IELTS with a score of at least 5.5, or Password Plus with a score of at least 5.5 or equivalent score in other standardized tests, such as TOEFL (see admissions requirements). The language certification is not needed for students with leaving certificates or degrees from Australia, Ireland, New Zealand, United Kingdom, United States of America and Canada (only English language institutions).

If the student comes from a third (non-EU) country, he/she must obtain a visa from the Immigration Department. UoL will submit the student’s complete file to the Immigration Department, which will seek the approval of the student’s academic qualifications from the Department of Higher Education of the Ministry of Education.
