We aim to prepare our students for active citizenship and for their future careers, supporting their personal development, creating a broad advanced knowledge base and stimulating research and innovation.

Diversity
At UoL, we consider diversity a strength and we are committed to creating an inclusive environment where all members of our community feel valued and respected. We welcome and celebrate differences in race, ethnicity, gender, religion, and socio-economic background.
These differences enrich our community and enhance our collective learning experience. We diversify our faculty, staff, student and independent communities through focused, evidence-informed and proactive approaches to recruitment, success and progression. We strive to foster a culture where people can understand each other’s perspectives and experiences, and where we have clear expectations around behavior, respect, empathy and kindness while recognising that these might sometimes be opposing.
We further encourage all members of the University community to express their unique perspectives and share their diverse experiences, consistent with our core value of freedom of thought and expression that stimulates the development of a free marketplace of ideas.
