The aim of this course is to educate the new generation of managers in terms of existing and new technologies used in the world of information systems and the web. Fundamental definitions of modern computer science will be reviewed with an emphasis on current technologies and practices. Upon completion, students will be able to utilize existing technologies, and develop analytical thinking skills. This will allow them to understand how to apply IT-related notions and techniques to a business environment, leading to the improvement of business processes.

Learning Outcomes

  • Understand of basic concepts of information systems and how to improve the business operations and processes.
  • Familiarize themselves with modern Information Technology (IT) business infrastructures and techniques and understand how to utilize them.
  • Develop critical thinking skills concerning how different IT infrastructures relate to each other.
  • Develop necessary skills to understand which technologies are appropriate for each business operation and provide leadership in IT-related projects within an enterprise.
  • Understand the value data have for businesses, the data analytics lifecycle and learn how data are stored, processed and protected.
