The objective of this course is to teach the students about management information systems and the role they play in the moden organisation. The students will see examples of information systems in many different industries, and understand their importance and the role they play. After completion of this module.

Learning Outcomes

  • Understand the different types of information systems in an enterprise: CRM, TPS, decision support systems and others.
  • Understand how companies can undergo a digital transformation through the implementation of information systems.
  • Understand how networks are integrated and managed within organisations.
  • Know the different types of databases, and under what circumstances they are best to use.
  • Understand how the impact of modern technologies like cloud computing and AI.
