The objective of this course is to provide students with the knowledge and understanding of consumer and firm behavior, analyze different types of market structures and understand how to apply economic principles to a range of policy questions.

Learning Outcomes

  • Apply economy principles and tools to business problems.
  • Predict the effect of changes in prices, incomes and competition on demand of a product.
  • Predict the effect of changes in prices, incomes and competition on supply of a product.
  • Assess the effects of changes in taxation, interest rates and other parameters on the business environment.
  • Analyze the market structure of different industries.
