The objective of this course is to provide students with the knowledge and skills for an in-depth understanding of the theory and application of mathematics used in Economics and to provide the tools for microeconomic, macroeconomic and econometric courses.

Learning Outcomes

  • Describe problems of interest in social sciences using mathematical notions.
  • Apply the techniques of contemporary mathematics to the social sciences.
  • Formulate a description of a real problem using mathematical models.
  • Analyze models through the mathematical tools the course provides (Linear Algebra, Calculus and Dynamic Systems).
  • Solve optimization and other relevant mathematical problems to social sciences.
  • Interpret the mathematical results of problem solutions.
