The objective of this course is to familiarize attendants with: The major types and applications of technological innovation in the financial services sector; The legal and regulatory treatment of such innovative phenomena; and The content and objectives of current legislative and regulatory initiatives at EU and national level.

Learning Outcomes

  • Be familiar with the major types of technological innovation in he financial services sector.
  • Be familiar with the requirements financial services professionals are expected to comply with when making use of financially innovative technological solutions.
  • Be familiar with the content of the current and upcoming provisions governing such activities.
  • Be in a position to distinguish the overaching policy principles behind the regulatory treatment of financial innovation.
  • Be familiar with similar regimes in the EU and internationally.
