The objective of this course is to provide students with the skills, knowledge and tools to identify, prioritize, plan, schedule and control projects in order to produce the required and desirable project benefits.

Learning Outcomes

  • Comprehend the critical success factors for delivering benefits through projects.
  • Explain the organizational structures that foster project-based management.
  • Analyse the role of the project manager and the role of business stakeholders.
  • Define project plan, schedule and control project parameters.
  • Learn how to manage resources, budgets, people and time.
  • Identify and deliver according to project scope.
  • Identify and manage project risks.
  • Explain the importance of Project Termination.
  • Learn the use of MS Project Management.

Assessment methods and criteria
30% Class participation – Students are expected to participate during lectures and collaborate with their pears during group exercises, hence a 30% of the final mark will be awarded according to the level of participation and contribution to teamwork.

Class participation means that a student must ACTIVELY participate in EVERY lesson and contribute to learning by:
asking questions
expressing opinion during lesson delivery and class discussion
generate discussions among the peers (other students)
contribute to classroom learning by sharing own experiences
participate in group exercises
contribute to classroom learning by challenging theories and concepts (extremely beneficial to shift paradigms)
sharing know-how in a variety of forms (own document templates, suggestions for improvement based on own experiences – good or bad)

The above is especially important during online classes that the Tudor is missing body language, facial expressions, voice tone etc.

70% Final Exam
An online exam, based on the concepts explained and discussed during the course. The exam duration is 60 minutes, and the maximum number of questions will be 45. Most of the questions are multiple choice (3 to 5 choices), with a small number of questions (no more than 10) being digitally enhanced (e.g. drag and drop, selection questions)
