SCHOOL OF CALM THINKING
THEMATIC AREA 5
Offered in Greek
Diversity creates challenges and opportunities in the workplace, as it can be visible, such as ethnicity, gender, age, physical disabilities, religion, or it can be felt in under-represented groups, for example, when someone can be “the only foreigner”, or “the lonely LGBTIQ+”, or “the only newcomer”, or “the only woman, the only man.” A huge number of surveys have found that a top factor why employees voluntarily leave their jobs is a lack of inclusion within their work environments. At the same time, scholars of diversity and inclusion define inclusion based on two separate elements: uniqueness and a sense of belonging. Employees, that is, have the need to feel part of a group, which at the same time, does not force them to assimilate. The Thematic Area “Culture and Sustainable Development” creates conditions of inclusion and participation through effective programs that consider both the uniqueness of employees and citizens in general, as well as the sense of belonging. They provide leaders with training tools and opportunities, that are inextricably linked to sustainable development and social governance, to support a fair and inclusive working environment.

The School of Calm Thinking was founded by Dr. Ioannis S. Christodoulou in 2020. The School of Calm Thinking is addressed to every thinking person, who is interested in the important things in his life! No previous specific student experience is required. The School has, at the same time, a research – scientific, educational and practical orientation. The elements of research, education, and practice are equally emphasized. The School is attended by people with a research spirit, who want to be educated about human beings, who seek to act without repenting!
We remain informed people but not prey to information. We become researchers of what concerns us, not passive receivers. We know what we are thinking about, as we are educated about humans. We do as we know we must do, and not because “we have to do something”…
Understanding and transcendence!
The project, studying at the School of Calm Thinking, is twofold: understanding and transcendence! Together we understand the following:
- that thinking is not a self-evident process.
- how much our thinking determines our lives.
- how much thinking to live is different from living to think.
In the School of Calm Thinking the following is transcended:
- of thinking that confuses and confuses us.
- those – situations, people – that confuse our thinking.
- of the problems that confusion entails…
… as researchers, as people who are educated, as people who do not decide and act at random…
How does this transcendence take place?
- It is a healing and rehabilitation experience.
- Treatment from what?
- From the uncontrolled functioning of thought, for which we are not responsible …
- Remedy with what?
Recreation!
All this, in fact, while feeling pleasant:
- students at the School learn things they are happy to learn.
- they socialize with people with common interests and a common ethos.
- they are empowered.
- they feel Calm!
