Course Objectives
To develop an understanding of the changing world economy with emphasis on the globalization of competition and the changing nature of the business-government relationship with particular reference to Cyprus and the region. To impart an awareness and knowledge of the different types of international enterprise as well as the methods companies use to access international markets.
Learning Outcomes
- Demonstrate knowledge of the opportunities and issues for companies in International Business.
- Know key features of the broader international and global environment, with particular emphasis on international trends, cultural and economic differences. Also an awareness of the position of Cyprus within the international/global business context.
- Identify specific international business methods and types of enterprise.
- Know entry strategies as well as the practical aspects of exporting.
- Acquire familiarity with the concepts underlying trade and international investment, the changing role of government.
- Know the managerial distinctions and their reasons between different models of international/ global enterprise.
