MSc in Occupational and Organisational Psychology – Distance Learning
Program Overview
The Master’s in Occupational and Organizational Psychology aims to develop professionals who apply scientifically grounded psychological principles to solve real business challenges, as well as to enhance employee well-being, performance, and organizational effectiveness.
The Master’s in Occupational and Organizational Psychology is offered via distance learning, providing flexibility and accessibility without compromising quality.
The program is available through two study pathways:
- Without Practicum: distance learning, 1.5 years (90 ECTS)
- With Practicum: distance learning, 2.5 years (150 ECTS)
Although all courses are delivered through distance learning, the 1,000-hour practicum is conducted in person at organizations in Cyprus. The University of Limassol has already secured a sufficient number of practicum placements for students in Occupational and Organizational Psychology across a variety of organizations and companies throughout Cyprus.
Graduate Employment Prospects
The program follows the standards of the British Psychological Society, the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology, and the International Association of Applied Psychology, and meets the requirements of the Cyprus Psychologists Registration Council for registration as Occupational and Organizational Psychologists.
We expect that some of the professional pathways for graduates will include:

- Working as talent acquisition and retention specialists
- Working as employee relations officers
- Working as training and development coordinators
- Working as change management consultants
- Continuing their studies in a Ph.D. program to work as faculty members in universities or colleges

- Working as human resources executives/consultants
- Becoming registered occupational and organizational psychologists (following the Practicum study pathway)

The University of Limassol is recognized by the Hellenic NARIC (Hellenic National Academic Recognition and Information Center). As reported on the Hellenic NARIC website, the University of Limassol is included in the National Registry of Foreign Recognized Higher Education Institutes.
Admissions Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree from a recognized Psychology program (or equivalent) with the following minimum grades:
- 2.0 or above from universities in the United Kingdom
- 3.0 or above from universities in the United States
- 5.0 or above (or equivalent) from universities and colleges in Cyprus and Greece
- Candidates with lower grades may be considered if they have compensatory advantages, such as relevant work experience or other achievements.
- English Language Proficiency:
Applicants must meet one of the following criteria:
- Be a native English speaker, or
- Be a graduate of a high school or university where English is the medium of instruction, or
- Have passed the IELTS with a score of 5.5 or above, or
- Have passed the TOEFL with the following scores: paper-based 550, computer-based 250, or internet-based 100
- A personal interview may be requested.
*For applicants who wish to follow the practicum study pathway, the following additional requirements apply:
- Must commit to completing the practicum requirements in person in Cyprus
- Must hold a degree in Psychology and be registered in the Register of the Cyprus Council of Registered Professional Psychologists

Program Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of the MSc program, students will be able to:
- Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the core theories, concepts, and principles in Occupational and Organizational Psychology, including topics such as motivation, organizational behavior, psychometrics, and health and well-being at work.
- Apply theoretical knowledge to analyze and evaluate real-world organizational challenges and dynamics, identifying key factors that influence employee behavior and organizational effectiveness.
- Critically evaluate and interpret empirical research findings, demonstrating competence in research methodologies, data analysis, and evidence-based conclusions.
- Design and implement strategies to enhance motivation, engagement, and job satisfaction.
- Utilize effective communication and interpersonal skills to support collaboration, conflict resolution, and positive organizational change.
- Appropriately apply psychometric tools for the assessment of individual characteristics, supporting decisions related to selection, development, and talent management.
- Design and carry out independent research projects, formulating research questions and producing evidence-based conclusions.
The program offers students the opportunity to complete 1,000 hours of supervised practicum, enabling them to meet the legal requirements for obtaining a license to practice as a psychologist and become eligible for registration as Registered Occupational and Organizational Psychologists.
Program Requirements
The European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS) is a tool of the European Higher Education Area designed to make study programs and courses more transparent. It helps students move between countries and have their academic qualifications and study periods abroad recognized. The credit units below are based on the ECTS framework.
To complete the program, students are required to earn 90 credits. For those who wish to complete the practicum, a total of 150 credits is required.

There is provision for attending the programme on a part-time basis, following a predetermined schedule and completing 2 courses per semester.
