The University of Limassol (UoL) will host a webinar titled “The Future of Digital Finance: AI, Crypto & Career Opportunities” on Wednesday, 18 March 2026 at 19:00 (Cyprus time).
The webinar will explore the rapid transformation of the financial industry driven by Artificial Intelligence, cryptocurrencies and financial technologies (FinTech), and will provide insights into the skills and career opportunities emerging in the digital finance sector.
The webinar will feature two academics from the University of Limassol with extensive expertise in finance and financial technologies.
Dr Andrey Afanasiev, Chair of the Department of Economics and Finance and Director of the MSc in Digital Finance at the University of Limassol, will share insights on the evolving financial landscape. Dr Afanasiev is an Associate Professor of Finance and Risk Management and has more than 25 years of experience in international banking and risk management, covering Europe, emerging markets and the Gulf region. His academic and professional work focuses on investments, financial and derivatives markets, stochastic finance, risk modelling methods, artificial intelligence and machine learning applications in financial services.
The webinar will also feature Dr Ekaterina Koroleva, Associate Professor of FinTech and Co-Director of the MSc in Digital Finance at the University of Limassol. Dr Koroleva holds a PhD in Business Administration and Management from Tallinn University of Technology (Estonia), where her research focused on FinTech business models and their linkages with customers and founders. She also holds a PhD in Regional Economics from the Institute of Regional Economic Problems (Russia). Her research interests include financial technologies, digitalization of the financial sector and big data analytics in finance.
