Data ProTech is a national project co-funded by the EU under the CERV Programme. It aims to strengthen the ability of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Cyprus to comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the forthcoming Artificial Intelligence Act (AIA).

Dr Christodoulos Efstathiades, Director of the BSc in Computing and Business Technologies, is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at UoL. He holds a PhD in Computer Science from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), and am MSc in Networked Computer Systems from University College London (UCL). He held positions both in academia and industry in the fields of Data Management, Data Science and Analytics. He worked as a data analytics engineer at the Bank of Cyprus and as a technology consultant and data engineer at EY Cyprus. He lectured at the Department of Computer Science at the European University Cyprus and at the University of Cyprus. His research interests lie in database systems and geospatial data management for big data, genomic data science and the application of data mining and machine learning in other sciences.
Dr. Afxentis Afxentiou is the Academic Research Manager of the Research Center and a faculty member at the University of Limassol. He holds a BA in History and Politics and an MA in Global Politics and Law from the University of Sheffield, and a PhD from the University of Brighton on the politics and ethics of drone warfare. His research focuses on democratization, social inclusion, and sustainable development. He has led and contributed to several EU-funded projects, including Erasmus+, AMIF, COSME, CERV, and Horizon Europe, and has published widely in the fields of international politics, security studies, and political theory.
Annita Eliade is a Senior Project Officer at the University of Limassol, specializing in education, instructional design, and EU project management. She holds a BA in Early Childhood Education, an MA in Instructional Technology, and an MBA from the University of Cyprus. Before Before entering project management , she worked as a Head Teacher in private education and as a Research Executive in the market research sector. She has managed and supported EU-funded projects under Erasmus+, AMIF, and CERV, focusing on pedagogy, children’s rights, gender equality, and adult education.
