Abstract:

Creative arts therapies, including dance movement therapy, drama therapy, art therapy, and music therapy, are increasingly represented in healthcare, education, and psychosocial practice. However, the impact of research in this field is often measured mainly through traditional academic citations, which do not fully capture wider public, professional, and social engagement. This talk will explore the visibility and impact of creative arts therapies research using Scopus and PlumX data from 2017 to 2022. It will show how publications in these fields are cited, saved, shared, and discussed across academic and public platforms. The session will also introduce altmetrics as a way to complement traditional citation indicators and better understand online visibility, public engagement, and the role of open access.

Biography:

Anastasija Gromova is a recent graduate in Dance and Movement Therapy from Rīga Stradiņš University, Latvia, with a background in nursing and social rehabilitation. Her interests focus on embodiment, emotional regulation, movement-based approaches, and the use of Virtual Reality in therapeutic and research contexts. During her Erasmus+ traineeship at the University of Limassol, she is exploring interdisciplinary connections between movement, psychology, and emerging technologies.
