Dr Evita Katsimicha
EXPERTISE
Dr. Katsimicha specializes in the psychopedagogical assessment and therapeutic support of children and adolescents. She provides parental counseling and designs prevention and intervention programs addressing challenging behaviors at primary, secondary and tertiary levels. Her research interests include antisocial behavior and its impact on parenting, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), sexual abuse, and domestic violence across infancy, childhood, and adolescence. She applies a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative and qualitative research to ensure comprehensive and evidence-based practice.
SHORT BIO
Dr Evita Katsimicha is a Lecturer in School Psychology at the University of Limassol, where she also coordinates the Distance Learning Applied School Psychology Program. She has been practicing for over ten years in the private sector as a Registered School/Educational Psychologist, specializing in Child and Adolescent Counseling and Psychotherapy. In the past, she has taught at the University of Cyprus and the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
Dr Katsimicha earned her first degree from the University of Crete and completed her undergraduate studies in Psychology at Oxford Brookes University (UK). She went on to obtain an MPhil in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapeutic Counseling from the University of Cambridge. She later completed a second Master’s degree in School Psychology and a PhD in Psychology at the University of Cyprus.
She is trained in Parent Training for the Management of Challenging Behaviors and in Parent–Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT). Her research has been presented at local and international scientific journals and conferences. Dr. Katsimicha served as a member of the Cyprus Psychologists Registration Council from 2016 to 2019. From 2023 to 2026, she served as President of the Cyprus Psychologists’ Association and currently continues her service on the Board of Directors as Outgoing President. She is also a member of the Scientific Committee of the multidisciplinary Assessment and Intervention Center “Unique Smiles.”
