The aim of the module is to offer the opportunity to apply in practice key business financial tools, strategic entrepreneurial management techniques. More specifically, they will undertake a feasibility study through the design and implementation of experiential market researching activity for a new venture (either in the entrepreneurial or intrapreneurial context); for the strategic development- diversification of an existing company — perhaps pursing accelerated organic growth. Students will develop hands-on experience in terms of the formulation, presentation, and promotion — to potential investors/financiers – of a real business plan proposal.

Learning Outcomes

  • Outline the entrepreneurial map.
  • Know the art of creative entrepreneurial thinking and innovation management.
  • Apply the various dimensions of the new venture funding process – bootstrapping finance, private equity-VC etc.
  • Know the key tools of the business planning – marketing research, formulating convincingly business plan proposals, undertaking feasibility -financial analysis etc.
  • Develop insightful knowledge and practical skills about entrepreneurial business planning skills i.e. market research, communication, presentation, networking skills etc.
  • Register a company and carry out all practical steps necessary to start a business.
  • Critically evaluate business plans from the perspective of the financier, investor, entrepreneurial manager and service provider/support agencies.
