The purpose of this course is to familiarize students with the complete execution of a research study in Educational Psychology. Students will work through all stages of the research process, including selecting or developing methodological tools, data collection, data analysis, and the interpretation of findings.

Throughout the research stages, students will be guided to engage in critical thinking and to evaluate validity, reliability, and ethical considerations in their chosen research processes.

The Study Guide supports students throughout their study but complements—rather than replaces—the assigned literature and additional tasks determined by the instructor.

Students will engage with twelve thematic units that require reflection, debate, and question formulation, with opportunities for discussion during consultation meetings.

Each thematic section includes: Purpose, Theoretical Background, Learning Objectives, Key Concepts, Useful Study Resources, Questions for Reflection and Critical Thinking, and Estimated Study Time.

General Objectives of the Course

The course aims to enhance students’ research skills and critical thinking, fostering a deep understanding of the research process in education and educational psychology.

Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of the course, students are expected to:

  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of the methods and statistical analyses used in educational psychology to examine various phenomena and behaviors

  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of the research processes used to investigate these phenomena and behaviors
