How can universities create stronger, more meaningful international collaborations?
This was the central theme of the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) On Demand – “Advancing University Partnerships between the United States and Cyprus,” organised by the U.S. Department of State through the U.S. Embassy in Cyprus.
Representing the University of Limassol, Professor Dr. Demetra F. Sorvatzioti, Vice Rector for International Affairs and Research, joined university leaders and experts in a series of discussions on building sustainable academic partnerships, expanding research collaboration, strengthening student and faculty mobility, and exploring new models of international engagement.
For the University of Limassol, the programme was not simply an opportunity to exchange ideas—it was an opportunity to establish new connections and identify practical avenues for future collaboration with U.S. higher education institutions.
Internationalisation is ultimately measured not by the number of agreements signed, but by the quality of the relationships built and the opportunities they create for students, academics, and society.
The University of Limassol thanks the U.S. Embassy in Cyprus and the U.S. Department of State for facilitating this valuable initiative and looks forward to turning these conversations into lasting partnerships.
