With great success, a discussion on “Research Ethics in Cyprus” was held today, 6 November 2025, at the University of Limassol Nicosia Campus, featuring as guest speaker the President of the Cyprus National Bioethics Committee, Professor Constantinos Phellas. The event was organised by the UoL Research Centre and attended by members of the University’s Faculty.

Professor Phellas shared his expertise on key aspects of research ethics in Cyprus, highlighting the importance of integrity, transparency and accountability within academic and scientific research. His presentation offered valuable insights into the ethical principles that guide responsible research practices and foster trust between the academic community and society at large.

An engaging open discussion followed, during which members of the UoL Faculty exchanged views on the role of ethics in research and reflected on the challenges and opportunities within this evolving field. The session provided a meaningful platform for dialogue and collaboration among academics committed to promoting ethical standards in their work.

The University of Limassol extends its sincere appreciation to Professor Phellas for his thoughtful contribution, as well as to all participants who attended and contributed to the discussion. The event reaffirmed the University’s commitment to advancing ethical awareness and excellence in research through open exchange and collaboration.
