InnerWorlds project aims to promote the mental health in the adolescents enhancing social awareness and strengthening resilience through the co-design and co-creation of an innovative and engaging mobile video game that will be developed, piloted and implemented following evidence-based psychological techniques. Furthermore, this project will equip educational institutions, parents and peers with a practical tool and training to recognize early signs of mental issues to foster a supportive environment.

The project results are the following:
Dr Markella Grigoriou, is a Lecturer at UoL with an interdisciplinary background consisting of a BA in Philosophy from the University of Patras in Greece, an MA in Neuroscience and Philosophy of Mind from the University of Birmingham, and a PhD in Psychiatry (Medical School) also from the University of Birmingham.Her research focuses on the integration of philosophy, neuroscience, neuroimaging and psychology aiming to understand and resolve challenging conditions in mental health such as suicide, extreme psychopathology, and other challenges in early childhood 0-6. Dr. Grigoriou focuses on how to develop and use nonclinical interventions in community, schools, families and public bodies to prevent mental disorders at an early stage. She delivers professional training; parenting education and she develops prevention and intervention programs in clinical and educational settings in Cyprus and the UK.
Theognosia Petrou works as a Project Officer at the Research Center of the University of Limassol. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of Cyprus and a Graduate Diploma in Social Anthropology from the University of Auckland in New Zealand. She also holds a Master’s degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) with Applied Linguistics from the University of Central Lancashire in Cyprus. Theognosia has extensive experience in coordinating and implementing European-funded projects. Her expertise covers a wide range of topics, including social inclusion, gender equality, youth work, migration, and education. She has also coordinated several workshops and engaged with issues related to sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), sexual harassment, volunteering, corporate social responsibility (CSR), and youth engagement. On a voluntary basis, she has delivered experiential workshops in primary and secondary schools in Cyprus on school bullying and healthy relationships. She completed her internship at the European Commission in the Directorate-General for Education and Culture in Belgium. Additionally, she has previously worked as a Youth Worker at the Cyprus Youth Clubs Organisation, a Social Welfare Officer at the Deputy Ministry of Social Welfare in Cyprus, and as an English teacher at a private school in China.

This project explores digital transformation and FinTech adoption in Cyprus, with a particular focus on SMEs and the broader business ecosystem. It uses a mixed-methods research design, combining survey data with interviews and case study evidence to generate evidence-based insights for policymakers and businesses.

The purpose of this research is to better understand the drivers, challenges, and impacts of digital transformation and FinTech adoption in Cyprus. The findings aim to support evidence-based policymaking, strengthen business practices, and contribute to innovation and economic development.
Your participation involves the following:

Invitation to take part in an optional interview.
Contribution to a case study or discussion session at a later stage.
Your participation is entirely voluntary, and you are free to decline or withdraw at any time without any consequences.
If you wish to withdraw from the study after submitting your responses, you may do so by contacting the Project Coordinator.
All data collected will be handled in strict accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Cyprus Data Protection Law (125(I)/2018).
Your data will be treated confidentially, pseudonymised and anonymised, and no personally identifiable information will be disclosed. Data will be securely stored and accessed only by authorised members of the research team. In some cases, qualitative data may be processed using machine learning techniques, such as keyword identification or pattern detection, strictly to support analysis; however, all interpretation and conclusions will be made by the researchers.
Aggregated and anonymised findings derived from the data (e.g., statistical summaries, graphs, and thematic insights) may be used for dissemination activities, including scientific publications, policy reports, infographics, and training materials. These outputs will not contain any information that could directly or indirectly identify participants or their organisations.
Anonymised data may be shared publicly after a 24-month embargo period, while raw or sensitive data will not be publicly available. Access to raw or sensitive data will be granted only upon justified request and consortium approval.
Your participation in this study does not involve any risks.
On the contrary, your contribution may help improve digital and FinTech policies, support SME development and innovation strategies, and enhance the overall business environment in Cyprus.
