On 30th of October 2024, the University of Limassol (UoL) actively participated in Let’s Do It! Cyprus, the largest environmental and volunteer cleanup campaign in Cyprus.
Let’s Do It! Cyprus aims to raise public awareness and inspire active involvement in environmental protection, conservation, and the sustainable management of Cyprus’s land and marine ecosystems. The campaign has been a significant environmental initiative on the island since its launch in 2012.
In collaboration with the Limassol Municipality, UoL team was assigned a green space in the city to contribute to the area’s cleaning efforts. Volunteers collected waste, sorting it carefully into general waste, plastic, and paper recycling bins.
This initiative aligns with the University of Limassol’s commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility and its dedication to contributing positively to Cypriot society. Through these activities, the university also fosters environmental awareness and a sense of responsibility among its students and staff, encouraging both personal and collective action for the protection and respect of the environment.
