Dr Kyriaki Mikellidou, Head of the Department of Psychology, is an Assistant Professor of Psychology and Quantitative Methods at UoL. She holds a PhD in Psychology from the University of York, UK, with focus on Experimental Psychology and Research Methods, and an MSc in Cognitive Neuroscience from the same University. She was until recently Marie Curie Fellow at the University of Cyprus, Department of Psychology & Center for Applied Neuroscience. Before that she was a Visiting Researcher at Max-Planck.

Dr Evie Michailidis

Dr Evie Michailidis is an Assistant Professor at the University of Limassol, she holds a BSc in Psychology, MSc in Occupational and Organisation Psychology, and a PhD in Psychology all from the University of Surrey. She has also obtained an MSc in Counselling Psychology from the University of Nicosia and she is a licensed Counselling psychologist (Reg.no.813). She has also completed her Post Doctoral studies in Work Psychology at the University of Verona, where she worked on two large national projects in collaboration with the University of Bologna and University of Milano Bicoca. Evie’s research lies within the field of Work and Organizational Psychology, with a particular focus on the psychological processes that influence occupational well-being, especially the experience of workplace embitterment. Evie primarily investigates how job demands, such as illegitimate tasks and perceived injustice, contribute to this negative emotional state. At the same time, she explores protective factors, such as appreciation, that may buffer its impact. She is a member of the European Association of Work and Organizational Psychology (EAWOP) and the European Academy of Occupational Health Psychology (EAOHP), and she is also an accredited BPS test user for Ability and Personality/Psychometric testing.

Dr Eva Pettemeridou is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychology and the Program Director of the BSc and PhD in Psychology at the University of Limassol. She holds a PhD in Clinical Psychology, specializing in Neuropsychology and Neuroscience from the University of Cyprus, and an MSc in Research Methods in Psychology from the University of Surrey. Dr Pettemeridou has held research positions at the Center for Applied Neuroscience and the KIOS Research and Innovation Center of Excellence at the University of Cyprus and has been a Visiting Researcher at the University of Cambridge.

Dr Antonia Zachariou is an Assistant Professor of Psychology (Educational and Developmental) at the University of Limassol. She studied for her PhD in Psychology and Education under the guidance of Dr David Whitebread, at the University of Cambridge. She also holds an MPhil in Psychology and Education from the University of Cambridge. Before returning to Cyprus, she was Senior Lecturer at the University of Roehampton, London.

Dr Maria Charalampous is the Director of the MSc in Occupational and Organizational Psychology and a Lecturer in HRM, Organizational Behaviour & Leadership, and Occupational & Organizational Psychology at the University of Limassol. She obtained her BSc in Psychology, with a minor in Political Science, from the University of Cyprus, and her MSc and PhD in Occupational and Organizational Psychology from Coventry University and the University of Surrey, respectively.

Dr Maria Vrikki is an Assistant Professor in Education and Psychology (Language Acquisition and Education) at the University of Limassol. She holds a DPhil (PhD) degree in Education (Second Language Acquisition) and an MSc degree in Applied Linguistics and Second Language Acquisition from the University of Oxford. Since 2013, she has worked on numerous research projects at the University of Cambridge, the University of Cyprus and the University of Nicosia. Dr Vrikki has more than 30 publications in peer-reviewed journals and edited books (h index = 17). She has presented more than 30 papers at national and international conferences and has been the keynote speaker of the “WALS – World Association of Lesson Studies” conference in 2023. Dr Vrikki is an ad-hoc reviewer for multiple peer-reviewed journals. She is a collaborator of the “CEDiR: Cambridge Educational Dialogue Research” group at the University of Cambridge. She has extensive experience in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students at institutions in the UK and Cyprus.

Dr Maria Ph. A. Photiou is a Lecturer in Psychology at the University of Limassol (UoL). She holds a Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of Cyprus, focusing on Cognitive/Experimental Psychology and Neuroscience. Until recently, she was a Research Associate at the CYENS Centre of Excellence, and she is a Fulbright Visiting Scholar at Vanderbilt University, USA.

Dr Markella Grigoriou is the Director of the BSc in Psychology (Distance Learning) and a Lecturer at the University of Limassol (UoL). She has an interdisciplinary academic background, holding a BA in Philosophy from the University of Patras, Greece, an MA in Neuroscience and Philosophy of Mind from the University of Birmingham, and a PhD in Psychiatry (Medical School), also from the University of Birmingham.
Prof. Christos Lionis

Professor Christos Lionis, MD, PhD, FRCGP(Hon), FESC, FWONCA, is a distinguished researcher and academician with a strong focus on primary care and public health. He is currently Professor Emeritus at the University of Crete. Dr. Lionis has served as principal investigator and collaborator on numerous EU- and internationally funded research projects. His scholarly contributions include 474 PubMed-indexed publications, reflecting his extensive involvement in advancing health care research. In addition to his academic and research roles, Dr. Lionis holds editorial and advisory positions with several leading international journals. He also serves on the Executive Board of multiple professional organizations, including his current role as Chair of the WONCA Working Party on Mental Health
Prof. Jan Vermunt is a Visiting Professor of Psychology and Education at the Department. He received his doctoral degree from Tilburg University for a thesis on student learning in higher education. He has worked as a research assistant at the University of Amsterdam, an assistant professor at Tilburg University, associate professor at Leiden University, visiting professor at the University of Hasselt, and full professor at the Universities of Maastricht, Utrecht, Cambridge and Eindhoven. He has been the Editor-in-Chief of the journal Learning and Instruction, an Associate Editor of the British Journal of Educational Psychology, and he is an Editorial Board member of Educational Research Review. The study of human learning has always fascinated him. His research interests are the learning sciences, with a focus on students’ learning in and outside education and teachers’ learning and professional development.
Prof. Jonathan Delafield-Butt

Jonathan Delafield-Butt is a Visiting Professor of Child Development. He is currently the Director of the cross-disciplinary Laboratory for Innovation in Autism at the University of Strathclyde. His work examines the origins of conscious experience and the embodied and emotional foundations of psychological development, with attention to the subtle but significant motor disruption evident in autism spectrum disorder. He took his Ph.D. in Developmental Neurobiology at the University of Edinburgh Medical School before extending to Developmental Psychology with application of intersubjectivity theory in postdoctoral work at the Universities of Edinburgh and Copenhagen. He held scholarships at Harvard University and the Institute for Advanced Studies at the University of Edinburgh for science-philosophy bridgework. Delafield-Butt trained pre-clinically in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy at the Scottish Institute for Human Relations. He is a member of the World Association for Infant Mental Health, the International Society for Autism Research, and the Gillberg Neuropsychiatry Centre at the University of Gothenburg. His lab advances an ecological, embodied understanding of the mind and works to develop bespoke wearable and smart device serious games to characterise the motor disruption in autism spectrum disorder, and its social and psychological consequences.
Dr Panagiotis Gkorezis is an Associate Professor at the Department of Economics at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He is a graduate of the same department and holds a Master’s degree in Human Resource Management from Lancaster University. He completed his doctoral and postdoctoral research in Human Resource Management and Organizational Behavior at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. His work has been published in leading academic journals such as the Journal of Vocational Behavior, Journal of Occupational and Organizational Psychology, Human Performance, The International Journal of Human Resource Management, Personnel Review, Employee Relations, and the Leadership & Organization Development Journal. He serves as an active reviewer for several esteemed academic journals, including the British Journal of Management, Journal of Occupational and Organizational Psychology, European Journal of Work and Organizational Psychology, and Journal of Business Research. He is also the creator of the podcast HResearch, which focuses on topics related to human resource management and organizational behavior.
Occupational Psychologist, C. Psychol. SFHEA, AFBPsS

Dr Christine Grant, C.Psychol, AFBPsS, SFHEA, is an Associate Professor at Coventry University and a Chartered Occupational Psychologist (HCPC registered). A Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and Associate Fellow at the Digital Futures Research Centre (University of Sussex), she has an established track record in workplace wellbeing, inclusive leadership, and digital work. Her research on remote and agile working is internationally recognised through the development of the E-Work Life psychometric scale, one of the few validated tools in this area. She has co-authored Agile Working and Well-being in the Digital Age and advised UK and Welsh governments on employment and disability policy. Dr Grant is also a trusted advisor to professional bodies such as the British Psychological Society and the Society for Occupational Medicine, and a regular media commentator on digital wellbeing and inclusion.
Dr Georgia Thrasyvoulou

Dr Georgia Thrasyvoulou is an Assistant Professor at the University of Limassol. She holds a Psychology degree from the University of Cyprus and both a master’s and PhD in Organizational Psychology from the University of Leeds. She is a licensed Occupational and Organizational Psychologist, also holding a Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education (PGCHE), and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA). Since 2016, she has lectured at various universities and institutions, including Leeds Trinity University and the University of Cyprus. Her professional experience in both the private and public sector in Cyprus has equipped her with significant expertise in Organizational Psychology. She is an active member of the European Association of Work and Organizational Psychology (EAWOP) and the Cyprus Psychological Association. Her research interests include job and workspace design, employee well-being, organizational consultancy, change and development, ergonomics, career counselling, and employability skills.
Dr Christodoula K. Gavriel is a Lecturer in the Department of Psychology at the University of Limassol. She holds a PhD in Cognitive Psychology, an MA in Cognitive and Educational Psychology, and a BA in Psychology from the University of Cyprus. Her research explores spatial processes related to human movement, using behavioral methods and Virtual Reality technologies to examine how people perceive and respond to their immediate surroundings, also known as peripersonal space (PPS).
