Prof. Andreas Artemiou is the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs and Quality Assurance at the University of Limassol, Dean of the Technology and Innovation School and Professor of Quantitative Methods and Analytics at UoL. He holds a PhD in Statistics from Pennsylvania State University. His research interests include high-dimensional statistics, supervised and unsupervised dimension reduction, computational statistics, machine learning, and text data analysis. Professor Artemiou also serves as an Associate Editor for the journal Computational Statistics and Data Analysis and is a member of the Board of Directors of the European Section of the International Association of Statistical Computing (2022–2026).

Dr Christodoulos Efstathiades is the Department Chair of Information Technologies, and the Director of the BSc in Computing and Business Technologies and the MSc in Data Analytics for Business. He is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at the University of Limassol (UoL). He holds a PhD in Computer Science from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) and an MSc in Networked Computer Systems from University College London (UCL). Dr  Efstathiades has held positions in both academia and industry in the fields of Data Management, Data Science, and Analytics. He has worked as a Data Analytics Engineer at the Bank of Cyprus and as a Technology Consultant and Data Engineer at EY Cyprus. He has also lectured at the Department of Computer Science at both the European University Cyprus and the University of Cyprus. His research interests include database systems, geospatial data management for big data, genomic data science, and the application of data mining and machine learning across various scientific domains.

Dr Stathis Hadjidemetriou, Director of the MSc in Computer Science and Business Technologies, is an Associate Professor of Computer Science and Information Technologies at UoL. He received his PhD in Computer Science from Columbia University. He has extensive teaching experience in computer science, electrical engineering and biomedical engineering. He has presented his work in numerous scientific conferences and published numerous research papers in scientific journals. As a post-doctoral fellow at Yale University and as a research scientist and collaborator of university hospitals in the US and Europe, he has worked on biomedical image analysis and biological microscopy related to cancer, in particular. He has also worked on biomedical MRI of the brain for neurologic conditions and quantitative MRI of the whole body for cancer and other conditions.

Dr Luca Ferrarini is an Assistant Professor of Information Technologies (with particular focus on data analysis and machine learning algorithms) at UoL. He holds a PhD in computer science (with honors) from Leiden University (Medical Center) in The Netherlands. His PhD project focused on the development of new technologies for the analysis of brain MR images, to detect shape changes due to neurodegenerative diseases. Dr Ferrarini has over 10 years of experience as project manager and data analytics consultant in leading IT companies, both in Italy and Cyprus. He has published several research papers in international peer-reviewed journals and conferences and worked as reviewer for many international journals and conferences, such as BMC Bioinformatics, The Journal of Alzheimer Disease, Transactions on Information Disease, Transactions on Information.

Dr Theodosis Mourouzis, Director of the MSc in Business Intelligence and Data Analytics, is an Assistant Professor of Information Management at UoL. He holds a PhD in Information Security and Cryptography from University College London (UCL) and an MSc in Advanced Studies in Mathematics from University of Cambridge. His PhD was fully funded by the UCL SECReT program and EPSRC. His research interests lie in the area of cryptanalysis of both symmetric and asymmetric cryptosystems, information security, optimization techniques in cryptanalysis and applications of data analytics techniques in fraud prevention. Prior to joining CIIM and UoL Dr Mourouzis taught at University College London (UCL) and he worked as a Cryptologist in a project funded by Technology Strategy Board (TSB) and as a Security SME at Digital Security and Fraud at Lloyds Banking Group in London, UK. Recipient of the UK University Cipher Champion 2013 award.

Dr Ioannis Filippopoulos, co-Director of the MSc Shipping and Operations Management, is an Assistant Professor at UoL. He holds a PhD in Computer and Networks Engineering from the University of Thessaly. Prior to joining UoL he was the Academic Director of Informatics and Engineering at Hellenic American University. He took part in many conferences as a speaker, in exhibitions, in research projects on the subject of cyber security and vessels, internet of things platform, digital transformation in shipping. Among his many publications, is his most recent book (2021): “ICT Solutions and Digitalisation in Ports and Shipping,” which records the volumes of global ship traffic and the solutions needed to reduce waiting times, costs, energy consumption and emissions.

Dr Panagiotis Kouvaros, co-director of the MSc in Computer Science & Business Technologies, is an Assistant Professor of Artificial Intelligence & Data Analysis.  He is additionally a co-founder and Research Consultant for Safe Intelligence, a venture-backed spin-out of Imperial College London. He was previously a Research Fellow at the Verification of Autonomous Systems Group at  Imperial College London. Prior to that, he was an Imperial College London EPSRC Doctoral Prize Fellow. He holds a PhD in Computer Science from Imperial College London (2016). He has published over 20 conference and journal articles on safe artificial intelligence. He was selected for an IJCAI 2023 Early Career Spotlight Talk.
