Program Overview

The Limassol University Law Program (LLB) provides students with comprehensive, up-to-date and multifaceted knowledge and education in the field of law, providing all the necessary skills for future lawyers for a professional and academic career.

The program offers the fundamental knowledge of legal science with a focus on Cypriot and Greek law as well as on contemporary legal issues in relation to related scientific, professional and cognitive subjects, which provide the graduate with the ability to meet professional challenges both locally and internationally.

Admissions Requirements

  1. For admission to the law programme, the minimum admission criteria is the possession of a recognised high school leaving certificate with a minimum grade of 16/20 (for public schools) or 80/100 (for private schools) or three GCE A Level examinations with an ABB grade or an International Baccalaureate with a minimum grade of 32.
  2. English Language. Students must hold one of the following certificates of English language proficiency.

In case they do not possess the below certificates, the University provides the option of a Placement test in English.

Program Learning Outcomes

After completing the programme, students are expected to:

  • demonstrate advanced knowledge and critical understanding of the basic theories, principles and concepts of legal science.
  • the ability to analyse and evaluate legal rules and the sources of law in general and their impact on social life.
  • apply quantitative and qualitative research methods to collect, analyse and interpret data for informed decision making and coherent legal thinking and argumentation.

Program Requirements

Assessment.

Various methods are used to assess students in the programme. A final examination is предусмотрed in combination with other methods of continuous assessment such as a midterm examination, in-class presentations, assignments, presentations, etc.

Graduation.

For the completion of the programme, students must accumulate 240 ECTS and meet all programme requirements.

Programme Structure

Compulsory Courses (ECTS 192). Depending on which legal system the student chooses to focus on, Cypriot law or Greek law, they must select the courses marked in parentheses with (CY) for Cypriot law and the courses marked in parentheses with (GR) for Greek law.

It is understood that courses marked in parentheses with (CY/GR) are offered for both legal systems.

Elective Courses (ECTS 48). The student must accumulate 54 ECTS from the elective courses.
